My fitness goal for years wasn’t even to be healthy. I wanted to be THIN. I wanted to have the “ideal” body.
Growing up, I was the CHONK. No curves, no jawline. Barely a neck, I swear. So I cut calories and did tons of cardio. And I became a teeny little thing.
Around the time I reached out to Ethan I shifted from wanting to be thin, to wanting to be strong as hell but I didn’t really know how to go about it.

“This is my 1 year transformation. My journey had it’s share of low points, that is for sure. But Ethan helped guide me through them through accountability and education about the process, so I must say that this has been incredibly worth it.

This has been a HUGE component of my ability to lose pounds and gain significant muscle tone. The workouts are intentionally designed, and change from day to day, so that we can keep motivated and making progress. Ethan’s guidance and skill at training have been indispensable in my health journey and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and train with him. I have developed a repertoire of exercises training with Ethan and changed my weight training philosophy from isolating body parts to whole body workouts. I’ve also developed an appreciation for preparing my body for exercise with proper warm ups. I’ve learned the importance of taking rest days -understanding now that rest is important to develop strength. I was in my late 30s and had gained quite a bit of weight in the last couple of years. I had been dragging myself to the gym off and on even though I hated it; I was very out of shape and was still gaining weight.

I first came to Ethan in 2015. I was a dancer and was looking into becoming a personal trainer. I decided it would be a good idea to work with one first.
I was super lucky to have Ethan as my first experience. For the next few years he taught me everything I know about strength training and mobility. He shared articles and podcasts with me and gave me advice and motivational talks when I needed it. He pointed me in the right direction as far as goals and things that peaked my interest. Since becoming a trainer, I’ve experienced the ups and downs of the trade and he continues to be a great mentor through that process.
He’s got great stories, has travelled the world with his punk/metal band for fun, yet fitness and health is a lifestyle for him. Ethan’s reply is always “I’ve got something for that.” And we work a new release, stretch or strengthening technique.
I am very grateful for the focused and specific attention Ethan has put into my training and how he has tailored my training to my needs and other aspects of my life (…work, martial arts, kids…). I spent 6 years in the military and was no where near as strong as I am now training with Ethan. It’s honestly the best investment I’ve ever made in my health.
A little over a year ago I reached out to Ethan after seeing numerous posts on Facebook about his fitness training, I was very
hesitant at first but I knew I needed to make drastic changes in my life if I was going to survive. My entire life I struggled with
severe alcohol addiction and all I ever wanted was to get sober but I kept failing over and over and over until one day a tragic
miracle happened and I knew I would never drink again. I always thought my problems would be solved if I just eliminated
drinking, so after 1.5 years of sobriety I could not understand how I could be the most unhealthy, overweight and depressed that
I had ever been in my life. I could barely get out of bed, when I managed a full day of work I was in great physical pain, most of
my waking hours were spent crying and consuming obscene amounts of sugar because it was one of the only things that made
me feel better.
I was desperate to try anything to bring back my desire to live because I knew I could not continue this way for much longer.
When I saw Ethan’s posts, I had this somewhat superficial thought that if I only looked better then all my other problems would
seem less significant, so I decided to give it a try. The first few months were really difficult, I had no balance, very little strength
and poor movement but I was determined not to give up and then the changes started happening..
My belt no longer kept my pants up, I was sleeping better, I could work a full day and not be in pain, I could stand on one foot
without falling over, but what I have gained from my last year with Ethan goes far beyond losing weight and gaining muscle, he
has encouraged me to look at all aspects of my life and change it for the better.. how I eat, how I sleep, how to maintain stress
levels and combat negative thinking, how to identify certain aspects of my life that are holding me back and move past them,
how to face my fears head on and overcome them, how to create goals and work toward them.
My year with Ethan has far exceeded any expectations I was hoping to get out of this journey, yes I am leaner and stronger, but
for me the biggest gift is that I can look in the mirror with dry eyes and say I honestly love myself and where I am at in my life
and the direction I am going. I recently asked myself, how can I ever repay him for everything he has done for me, and the
answer came so quick. The only way I can repay him is by never giving up, to keep learning, growing, changing, and continue to
be the goal crushing bad ass that I am!
I came to Ethan not only because I wanted to shed some fat in a sustainable way, but most importantly because I was dealing
almost chronic sleep issues, no energy and low libido. Already had blood tests done by my doctor and they were all looking
normal, so I suspected that my diet likely had a lot to do with it.
One of the first things we did was to up my calories by 500~ more than I had been consuming for the last few weeks, and guess
what – I still lost weight. All of the things above improved and we slowly dropped my calorie intake while having weekly calls to
adjust anything if needed. Ethan is a very knowledgeable dude in the field of nutrition and doesn’t just give you a copy paste
program or diet to follow, he will tailor them to your needs and adjust accordingly along the way.
By the end of our contract, I ended up dropping roughly 5.5kg/12lbs in a 4 month period, while making PR’s in the gym and
generally feeling a lot better because my issues with low energy and sleep etc. had improved greatly.

“Hi, I’m Kate. I’ve been weight training with Ethan for 10 months, and learning Muay Thai with him for the last 4 months. After
years of dancing for a living, persistent bouts of respiratory illness, my body was spent and broken throughout 2017. My back
pain, muscle weakness, and puny immune system were beginning to rule my life. I had to do something about it, so I contacted
my old co-worker Ethan…
At first, it was… challenging. I was uncoordinated and unsure of myself, a fish out of water… Ethan was patient, kind,

down by 75%. As far as dancing, I thought my career was over at the beginning of 2018. Now I’m entering the most successful
chapter of my dancing career, and I have no intention of giving up for the foreseeable future. I never expected that.
Mentally, there have been huge improvements, as well. The depression I’ve been long-resolved to has abated considerably. My
self-image is changing. I’ve always seen myself as weak, physically. I’ve discovered that I can handle far more than I ever
thought possible. My self-esteem has grown as well. My body now looks like the body of a much younger woman.
Honestly, this last 10 months has changed many aspects of my life. Working OUT has forced me to work THROUGH several
deep emotional scars and toxic opinions of myself. That’s something I wasn’t expecting. All around, I feel like I’m a much better,
stronger version of myself than I was last year.
